Music Therapy Isle of Man offers both individual and group music therapy, based in our clinic room, your home or another agreed setting. Our work is based entirely around the client, focused on their needs and how music can best support them.
What to expect...
Free consultation
We offer a short, informal conversation - usually around 15 minutes by phone or video call - with no obligation. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, share a little more about what prompted you to get in touch, and see whether music therapy might be the right fit.
2. Liason with professionals
If other support services are involved (e.g. schools, Admiral Nurses), we can connect with them in order to ensure that the right support is in place before sessions start.
3. Assessment
Every client begins with a three-session assessment period. Alongside these sessions, we will also meet with caregivers to hear their perspectives if appropriate. Afterwards, an assessment report will be produced. This stage helps all involved decide whether ongoing music therapy is right for the client.
4. Regular sessions
Sessions usually happen once a week or fortnightly in our clinic room, in your home or another agreed setting. Every person's sessions look different. Some involve active music-making, others personalised listening or songwriting. The focus is always on what helps a person best.
5. Review points
This provides an opportunity to review any changes in support needs, recognise achievements and discuss next steps together.
